A train of thought.
*sound of tumbleweed blowing through lab*

*sound of a scientific discovery...*

*..that had already been discovered*

*sound of spongy mesophyll*

*sound of low secondary vein angle*

*audible sound of chord being struck*

FIN.

If you love me, you will read the book I just finished.

After walking around Borders the other day I noticed that the only highly visible books written by women were romance novels and Harry Potter books. This seriously pisses me off - it must be nearly impossible to be taken seriously as a female author. I complained to Dave about this and consequently recieved PopCo for Christmas. I haven't been able to put it down since.
Scarlett Thomas totally has her shit together. I should be able to come up with a more eloquent description of her considering I've just read her wonderfully written book, but that's all you get when I'm on holidays, I'm afraid.
This week I'm in Sydney on a half work/half play adventure so I plan to do some serious thesis writing punctuated by some serious pleasure reading.
Bliss!
